I was recently given about 1000 pounds of steel C channel. Seemed
like a good excuse to finally build a decent welding table. A trip to a
local scrap yard secured a piece of 1/4" plate for the top. A pleasant
morning spent welding and grinding had a base ready. The plate turned
out to be much harder steel than expected and I ended up cutting it out
with a cutoff wheel in an angle grinder. Some more grinding and wire
brushing and it was ready for primer. Two coats of hammered black paint
and its ready for my next welding project. Note, the top is not painted as
it serves as a ground for parts being welded. |
