Just a little taste of subjects I find interesting.
Click on the buttons to the left to see more details. Check back often
as I will update these frequently.
- Radio Control - I have been building and flying
radio controlled models for about 15 years. I do the
occasional review
for Fly RC magazine
http://www.flyrc.com/ and have published a number of reviews
on the eZone.
- Scouting - I am an Assistant Scoutmaster and a
Venturing Crew Advisor. You can see some of what my units
are up to at: Boy Scout
Troop 515
- Lathe - I've recently indulged a life long
desire to own a metal lathe. Now begins the acquisition of
tooling!
- Mill - The perfect counterpart to the lathe, a
mini-mill.
- Backyard Foundry -
The foundry is complete. I've
melted scrap aluminum and cast ingots so far. I'm currently
making improvements to my burner and hope to try some sand
casting soon.
- Maille - what could be more fun than knitting
stainless steel rings into wearable armor?
- Photography - I have a Cannon EOS Digital Rebel
XT and really enjoy taking pictures.
- Welding - Just a cheesy wire feed welder but I
still get to make the occasional useful gadget.
- Woodworking - These days my machines are packed
into my garage and don't see a lot of use. I still enjoy the
occasional project.
- Two Bit Rings - Got some spare change and time?
Try this nifty project.
- Anodizers - What do you get when you mix metal,
high voltage, and electrolytes? Fun with science.
- CNC Router - It has been a few decades since I
worked in industrial automation and prices had been
dropping, time to play.
- Honda Ruckus Frame Extension Blocks - A prototype
turns into a couple of small production runs.
- Industrial Hobbies Mill - A serious upgrade in my
milling capabilities. Even more when the CNC retrofit is
installed.
